Days 1-2
After being met at Windhoek airport, you are taken north to Okonjima Lodge to rest and relax after your flight. Okonjima Lodge is the home of the Africat Foundation, where they are working for the conservation of big cats, especially leopard and cheetah. After lunch, there is time to take a walk or a swim. Mid-afternoon tea is served and then your Okonjima guide will discuss the options available for the afternoon. You can visit the cheetah which Okonjima are trying to re-introduce to the wild (this is particularly difficult with orphaned cheetah), or tracking some of the radio-collared leopard that they have in a 4,000 hectare area. After dinner there is a night hide available for those that can still keep their eyes open! From here you have a chance to see porcupine, honey badger, caracal and sometimes leopard.
