Day 1:
Overnight flight to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Days 2 - 4:
When you arrive at Dar es Salaam airport you will be met and taken to the domestic terminal where you will catch your charter flight to Saadani Game Reserve and to Saadani Lodge.
Saadani is the only coastal wildlife sanctuary in East Africa, which not only means relaxing on Indian Ocean beaches after each safari, but also provides an opportunity to observe Africa's big game (4 of the big 5 are present in the reserve) and bird life interacting with the sea. Bottled-nosed dolphins are common off the Southern coast of the reserve, whales pass through the Zanzibar channel in October and November, and there is a green turtle breeding beach at Madete in the North.
Saadani Lodge, 3 nights on a full board basis including one activity per day (Saadani is a lovely place to relax on the beach but if you want to do more activities you can pay direct for them at the lodge.)
Days 5 - 6:
Today you will fly from Sadaani to Zanzibar where you will be met and transferred to the Emerson and Green Hotel to stay for the next 2 nights.

The Emerson and Green Hotel is situated on the north side of old Stone Town. Originally an old Zanzibari palace, it has 10 large en-suite bedrooms on 3 floors including the famous roof-top restaurant. Undoubtedly one of the most romantic restaurants in Africa it features panoramic views of Stone Town and a spectacular view of the Indian Ocean, it is the perfect place to watch the sun set and enjoy a five course meal accompanied by the sites and sounds of exotic Zanzibar.
Emerson & Green Hotel, 2 nights on a B&B basis
Days 7 - 10:
Today you will fly from Zanzibar to the Selous Game Reserve. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Selous Safari Camp to stay for the next 4 nights.
The Selous Game Reserve is the biggest reserve in Africa. It is a wild and beautiful area and hasn't really opened up to tourism in a huge way. The animals are not used to seeing many people and are therefore quite wild but you are seeing them in a totally natural and unspoilt environment. You will be met at the airstrip and taken to the Selous Safari Camp.

The Selous Safari Camp is situated in the north of the Selous Game Reserve on the banks of the Rufiji River. The camp has been designed to blend in with the spectacular natural scenery in an area that has one of the highest game concentrations in the Selous Game Reserve. There are no fences so animals wander freely through the camp. Even from your bed the game viewing can be spectacular as animals come down to drink at the water's edge.
Selous Safari Camp, 4 nights on a full board basis
Days 11 - 15:
Today you will take a charter flight from the Selous Game Reserve to Mafia Island where you will be met and transferred to Kinasi Lodge to stay for the next 5 nights.

Mafia Island, south of Zanzibar and only 45 minutes flight from Dar es Salaam is an island retreat for adventure divers, game fishermen or simple feet up relaxation. Kinasi is a comfortable lodge situated on a hillside overlooking Chole Bay, which is part of a protected marine park. The diving and snorkelling here is some of the best on the east African coast and the warm clear protected waters of the bay are perfect for swimming and windsurfing. With mapped walks, picnics and daily trips to sandbars and reefs and delicious food, Kinasi is the perfect island destination.

Day 16:
This afternoon you will take a short flight back to Dar es Salaam where you will be met by a driver and taken to a local restaurant for dinner before being transferred back to the airport in time to check in for your overnight flight back to the UK.
