Tanzania : Arusha

Arusha National Park and Mt Kilimanjaro
Arusha is one of Tanzania's smallest National Parks and also one of the most beautiful and least visited. It is very close to the airports of Arusha and Kilimanjaro and an excellent place to start your holiday from.

Ol onyo Oroc
The small lodge of Ol onyo Oroc is situated at the foot of rugged Mt Meru. It boasts wonderful views of Mt Kilimanjaro and its gardens play host to numerous giraffe and even buffalo. You can explore this lovely area with a combination of game-drives and walking safaris. You will visit Ngurdoto Crater, the Momella lakes and the foothills of Mt Meru with its Crater Lake, waterfalls and thick forest. This whole area is rich in game, including elephant, colobus monkey and the elusive leopard.

Mt Kilimanjaro
Rising directly from the plains, Mt Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain. From cultivated farmlands on the lower slopes, it rises through lush rainforest to alpine meadow and finally across a barren lunar landscape to the twin summits at 5895 metres. It is an easy climb but due to the altitude it takes a reasonable amount of fitness and time to acclimatise so 3-4 days need to be put aside for the climb.
