Tanzania : Arusha National Park

Arusha is one of Tanzania's smallest National Parks and also one of the most beautiful and least visited. Lying between the peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, it has a wide range of habitats from crater lakes to highland montane forest. With this comes a huge variety of wildlife, from migrating water birds, waterbuck, bushbuck and duikers, colobus monkeys to elephant, giraffe, hippo and buffalo. It is very close to the airports of Arusha and Kilimanjaro and an excellent place to start or finish your holiday.

Hatari

Hatari Lodge is set amongst acacia woodland and is decorated in retro style in tribute to the early safaris of the 60s and 70s, and has nine comfortably furnished rooms, each with an open fireplace and a spacious en suite bathroom. Directly below the terrace where you have breakfast is the Momella clearing, where you can see buffaloes, waterbuck, warthogs, giraffe and water birds milling about. Hatari is unusual as a safari lodge but has great service and is a great place to start or finish your safari.
