Zimbabwe : Chizarira National Park

Chizarira National Park Chizarira National Park is a beautiful mountainous area to the south of Lake Kariba. It's a remote and wild park off the normal tourist track but with its grassy valleys and riverine forests it is a birders paradise. The game is widely distributed around the park and the best way to see it and learn about the flora and fauna of the area is to walk along the elephant paths and mountainous trails with an armed professional guide.

Chizarira Wilderness Lodge
The luxury Chizarira lodge is set on the escarpment just outside the park and on a clear day has views of Lake Kariba 40 kms away. There are seven cottages, which have a wonderful site on the edge of the escarpment where you can sit on your balcony and listen to the noises of local African villages rising up from the valley below. The honeymoon cottage has its own out door plunge pool. The bar and dining area are built under thatch and in front is the pool with fantastic views.
