Who we are
My name is Vicky Stirling and I set up and run Farside Africa. I spent about 9 years travelling and working in Africa and I decided to set up Farside Africa in 1996. After my last trip working in Uganda I came back to the UK and started trading in 1998. Since then we have been going from strength to strength. We are based in Scotland in Edinburgh and we are the only Scottish company who specialise in tailormade holidays and safaris to Africa and Morocco.

We only deal in holidays in Africa, as it is the only area of the world that we know really well. We have worked, managing lodges and have travelled extensively throughout the rest of Africa. From this experience we have gained an important understanding of the people and how the tourist industry works and most importantly what you as the client expect from your holiday. We have worked and raised money for Save the Rhino International and visited a number of their projects throughout Africa. We have a close affiliation with the charity and therefore we want to promote it on this website and help fund its valuable projects. Critical to organising a holiday is for us to talk about where you want to go and what you want to see. Then we can put together an itinerary specifically for you. Why Africa?
In Africa opportunities abound, from diving with great white sharks to twitching at some of the world's rarest birds. Horse riding through herds of animals to camel trekking in the desert. You can glide down a river in a canoe avoiding hippos and crocs or track rhino and elephant on foot. But if that all sounds a bit strenuous you can see all the game you could wish for from the comfort of your landrover and even from the balcony of your lodge.

Many people think that Africa is a place of early mornings and bumpy roads and not the ideal relaxing spot for your dream holiday. But think again!

The palm fringed beaches of the Indian Ocean are waiting, the exotic isles and lakes with snorkelling and diving over pristine reefs, deep sea fishing, sailing on traditional dhows, delicious seafood and relaxation. The choice is yours - we can plan your ultimate holiday!

We have no affiliation with any of the lodges so are totally objective in our choice.
