Cape Town & Winelands

Cape Town & Winelands image

Cape Town is a cosmopolitan and sophisticated city built around the renowned Table Mountain, with the beautiful Winelands region just a short drive away.

The city has developed and maintained a reputation for its friendly hospitality. There is plenty to see and do in and around Cape Town with markets, museums, shopping, and excellent restaurants. A longer stay allows you to venture to the Winelands to enjoy not only the world-renowned food and wine but the beautiful landscape and lovely historic towns with their classy boutiques and excellent restaurants. Stay in one of the towns of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Tulbagh or one of the wine estates. There’s a huge variety of vineyards within easy reach where you can enjoy cellar tours and taste the wine from small, owner-run vineyards to larger cellars with the better-known names.

  • You can visit the penguins at Boulders Beach.
  • Enjoy walking, mountain biking, kayaking, diving and water sports around the Cape.
  • You can walk up Table Mountain and then get the cable car down or you can cable car both ways! The more adventurous can abseil!
  • On top of Table Mountain, you only need to walk a short way from the cable car to get away from the crowds.
  • The Cape Peninsula offers one of the finest coastal drives in Africa – Chapmans Peak Drive – to the Cape of Good Hope. Here you might see whales breaching just off the bay.
  • The Uthando township is well worth a visit to see the award-winning projects focused on tourism for community development. Check out their amazing work at www.uthandosa.org and drop in on your next visit to see it in action.
  • Drive a little further to say Robertson or Paarl to get away from the busier areas of the Winelands.
