Languages
Arabic is the official language, but English is widely spoken as are many Asian languages such as Hindi, Urdu, and Baluchi. Swahili is spoken by some, a legacy of Oman´s former East African presence.
Currency
Omani Rial (OMR). All major credit cards are widely accepted, including (to a lesser extent) American Express, and ATMs are widely available.

Visa requirements
All UK, Australian, Canadian, USA and EU passport holders require visas which can be obtained on entry. OmR6 (single-entry, one month); OmR10 (multiple-entry, one year) payable on arrival.

Health requirements
You should seek up-to-date advice regarding inoculations and health precautions from your GP or travel clinic as soon as your departure date is known.
